The factory halogen headlight uses a bright amber side marker and highly visible chrome internal surfaces. This pre-cut Subaru WRX headlight overlay visually minimizes the amber reflector while the connected upper eyelid adds a lower, more focused appearance to the headlight.

Because the modification is completed using removable automotive wrap vinyl, you can update the front end without painting the headlight, opening the housing or purchasing replacement headlight assemblies.

Quick Installation Guide

Installation takes approximately 20 minutes under proper conditions. Work indoors or in a shaded, controlled environment. Avoid installing vinyl on a hot headlight or in direct sunlight.

Recommended tools: Clean spray bottle, mild soap and water for cleaning, lint-free microfiber towel, felt-edge squeegee and a heat gun or hair dryer for controlled post-heating.

1. Clean the headlight.
   Wash the application area to remove dirt, wax, grease and detailing products. Dry the headlight completely before applying the vinyl.
2. Identify each side.
   Confirm the passenger-side and driver-side pieces before removing either overlay from its backing paper.
3. Begin at the outer side marker.
   Position the broad amber-delete section against the outer side of the headlight. Align this section first before allowing the connected eyelid to contact the upper headlight edge.
4. Confirm the full alignment.
   Lightly tack the overlay in place and verify that the amber-delete section and upper eyelid follow the intended headlight contours.
5. Apply controlled pressure.
   Work gradually from the aligned area outward using a felt-edge squeegee. Push trapped air toward the nearest open edge.
6. Conform the eyelid.
   Continue along the narrow upper extension while maintaining alignment. Use minimal controlled heat only when needed to help the film follow the headlight contour.
7. Post-heat and inspect.
   Apply controlled heat around the perimeter and all curved areas, then press the edges firmly. Inspect both headlights for lifted edges or trapped air before driving.

Care, Removal and Service Life

• Allow the vinyl and its edges to set before washing the vehicle.
• Avoid directing a pressure washer directly into the overlay edges.
• Hand washing with automotive-safe products is recommended.
• Expected outdoor service life is approximately 5–7 years, depending on installation, climate, vehicle storage, exposure and maintenance.
• The film can be removed from a sound factory lens when proper vinyl removal techniques are followed.
