DIY Installation Guide

Install the overlays in a clean, shaded and temperature-controlled environment. Avoid installation on a hot lens, in direct sunlight or over a contaminated surface.

1. Inspect the taillights.
   Confirm that each lens is cool, undamaged and free from peeling coatings, wax, sealant or previous adhesive residue.
2. Clean the application area.
   Wash and dry the lens, then remove any remaining oil, wax and contamination using a surface-safe preparation solution and a clean microfiber towel.
3. Test the alignment.
   Position each overlay over its matching clear taillight section before removing the backing paper. Identify the correct driver- and passenger-side pieces.
4. Establish the starting edge.
   Peel back a small portion of the liner, align the first edge and lightly tack the film into position. Do not apply full pressure until placement is confirmed.
5. Apply the overlay.
   Work gradually across the lens using overlapping strokes with a clean felt-edge squeegee or wrapped fingertip. Avoid trapping air or overstretching the precut film.
6. Set the perimeter.
   Carefully work around every edge and confirm that the film is fully seated. Use controlled heat only when necessary; excessive heat can distort the overlay.
7. Complete the final inspection.
   Check the installation from multiple angles and allow the adhesive to settle before washing the vehicle or exposing the overlays to unnecessary moisture.

Is this a complete blackout film?
No. This product uses transparent smoke tint. It darkens the factory clear portions while allowing the underlying lens details to remain visible.

Does one order include both taillights?
Yes. The product is sold as a complete driver- and passenger-side set.

Do I need to remove the taillights?
