Installation Tools & Difficulty

Recommended tools: Spray bottle filled with water, felt-edge squeegee, lens-compatible cleaning supplies, and a heat gun. Minor trimming may require a precision blade; avoid cutting directly against the lens.

Difficulty: 2.5 out of 5. Most of the application is straightforward, with additional care needed around the turn signal sections, contours, and tucked edges.

Wet Installation Overview

1. Clean and prepare.
   Remove dirt, wax, and residue using a lens-compatible cleaner. If using isopropyl alcohol, confirm compatibility with the lens and any existing coating. Allow the surface to dry.
2. Mist and position.
   Lightly mist the adhesive side of the overlay with water. Position it along the corresponding tail light lines, checking the edges before applying firm pressure.
3. Secure the turn signal face.
   Align the outermost side of the face overlay with the outer edge of the light. Squeegee vertically through the center to establish an anchor, then work the water outward toward each side.
4. Align the secondary section.
   Position the forward-pointing corner flush with the line bordering the upper red lens. Smooth the main triangular area, then guide the narrow extensions along the top and bottom of the light.
5. Tuck and finish the edges.
   Open the rear hatch to access the inner light edge and tuck the excess film where intended. Use controlled heat to help secure the contours. Minor trimming may be needed depending on placement.
6. Inspect and let the film settle.
   Remove remaining water pockets and inspect every edge. After application is complete, allow approximately 30 minutes in warm sunlight to help the film settle; drying time varies with conditions.

Plan for approximately 15 minutes of application time, with additional time for preparation, careful alignment, and drying as needed.
