Wet Installation Guide

This product uses professional paint protection film installation techniques. A wet installation allows the film to be repositioned during alignment and helps the installer remove trapped air while conforming the material to the headlight.

Step 1: Prepare the Headlights

Thoroughly wash and clean both headlight lenses. Remove all dirt, wax, sealants, ceramic products, road film and other contamination. Use a clay bar when necessary, then complete the final cleaning step with a paint-safe surface-preparation solution.

Step 2: Check the Installation Conditions

Work in a clean, shaded and temperature-controlled environment. Do not install the film in direct sunlight or on hot, cold or wet headlights. For the best results, install between 65°F and 80°F.

Step 3: Identify and Test-Fit

Identify the driver-side and passenger-side pieces before removing the release liner. Hold each piece over its corresponding headlight to confirm its orientation, coverage and primary alignment points.

Step 4: Apply the Slip Solution

Spray the headlight lens and your hands with PPF slip solution. Carefully remove the release liner while spraying the exposed adhesive side of the film. Keep the adhesive wet and avoid touching it with dry or contaminated fingers.

Step 5: Position the Film

Place the film onto the wet headlight lens and slide it into its intended position. Confirm that the material is evenly aligned around the perimeter before securing any portion of the film.

Step 6: Establish an Anchor Point

Lift the film at the selected anchor area and apply a small amount of tack solution. Squeegee the area firmly to lock the film into position, then carefully add tension only where needed to conform the material across the headlight.

Step 7: Squeegee the Film

Using controlled, overlapping strokes, work from the secured area toward the outer edges. Push all slip solution and trapped air out from beneath the film. Re-wet the top surface as needed so the squeegee moves smoothly without scratching the film.

Step 8: Secure the Edges

Once the main surface is installed, flush the edges with clean water or tack solution to remove remaining soap. Carefully squeegee the perimeter until every edge is fully secured.

Step 9: Inspect and Allow to Cure

Inspect the completed installation for trapped air, excess moisture, fingers or loose edges. Apply gentle finishing heat where necessary and press the edges firmly. Avoid washing the vehicle or exposing the film to unnecessary moisture for at least 24 hours.
