Toyota “TEQ” Bedside logo Decal Set
"TEQ" BEDSIDE DECAL SET
Anyone who has been around old Land Cruisers has likely encountered Toyota’s early TEQ mark. But, what do the T, E, and Q in Toyota’s early mark actually mean? To spell “Toyota” in Katakana, you have to use 3 characters that make the combined sounds: To, Yo, and Ta. Those are actually the characters that you see in what we mistakenly translate into English as t, e, and q.
INSTALL GUIDE
TOOLS REQUIRED: PRO FELT SQUEEGEE, HEAT GUN or Warm Sunny Day to Post Heat the product
DRY INSTALL BASICS: Getting the vinyl installed on your vehicle is very easy and only requires minimal tools. For Best results we recommend cleaning the surface that you'll be applying our overlays too, cleaning should consist of removal of any waxes, dirt and or debris. For the cleaning process a clay bar is highly recommended: CLEANING PREP SPRAY & CLAY BAR's SOLD HERE). Before you begin installation of any vinyl overlays please make sure you are working in the right conditions, you should never install vinyl in direct sunlight, never apply vinyl in temperatures that are neither too hot nor too cold. Our in-house expert installers say the optimum temperature for installing vinyl is between 65 and 72 degrees (F). Vinyl can be installed in temperatures as low as 65 degrees (F), and up to 90 degrees (F). Vinyl has a more difficult time conforming and staying in place in colder temperatures though, which is why we recommend waiting until temperatures warm up or install in a temperature controlled environment.
FULL INSTALL: After the surface is clean and you have read and completed "DRY INSTALL BASICS", remove the vinyl from the backing paper. Hold it by the left and right side of the transfer tape and line up the center of the decal so that the rectangle lines up to the rectangle that surrounds the red part in your 5.0 badge. If centered correctly everything else will fall into place.
Once placement is confirmed, starting in the center of the emblem, use firm pressure with a pro-felt squeegee or your fingers and lay the center of the vinyl onto the emblem vertically up and down. Then do the same horizontally.
Once the vinyl is laid completely on the emblem, slowly and carefully remove the transfer tape.
Now, post heat the overlay, simply by letting your vehicle sit out in the warm sun for a approximately 30 minutes, or use a heat gun to speed up the process.
