Dry Installation Guide

This product uses a dry installation method. Careful positioning, controlled squeegee pressure and gentle heat will help the material conform to the headlight’s curves and produce a clean finished appearance.

Step 1: Prepare the Headlights

Thoroughly clean each headlight to remove dirt, road film, wax, ceramic products and other contaminants. Use a clay bar when necessary, then complete the final cleaning step with a vinyl-safe surface-preparation solution. Allow the lenses to dry completely before applying the overlays.

Step 2: Check the Installation Conditions

Work in a clean, shaded and temperature-controlled environment. Do not install the overlays in direct sunlight or on hot, cold or wet headlights. The recommended installation temperature is between 65°F and 80°F. Installation may be possible between 50°F and 90°F, but additional care may be required.

Step 3: Identify and Test-Fit Each Overlay

Identify the driver-side and passenger-side pieces before removing the backing. Hold each overlay over the corresponding headlight to understand its orientation, alignment points and final position.

Step 4: Position the Overlay

Peel back a small portion of the release liner and carefully establish your initial alignment. Lightly tack the film in place without applying full pressure until you have confirmed that the amber-delete and eyelid sections are positioned correctly.

Step 5: Apply the Film

Once aligned, use controlled, overlapping squeegee strokes from the center toward the outer edges. Gradually remove the remaining release liner while applying the film to help prevent wrinkles and trapped air.

Step 6: Conform and Secure

Apply gentle heat where necessary to soften the film and help it conform around bends, corners and contours. Avoid overheating or overstretching the material. Firmly press all edges and recessed areas once the overlay is properly positioned.

Step 7: Inspect and Post-Heat

Inspect the completed installation for bubbles, wrinkles or loose edges. Apply gentle post-heat to the edges and contoured areas, then press them firmly with your squeegee or finger. Allow the adhesive to set before washing or exposing the vehicle to unnecessary moisture.
