The subdued appearance of the black distressed flag looks great on my silver 2019 Crosstrek. I "dry-applied" it on a 45-degree day using their cheapest squeegee. One could just as easily use a credit card instead, but I also ordered two other products so the more-rigid squeegee came in handy. Installation was pretty easy. I cleaned the glass with windex and then rubbing alcohol, took my time and started from the front (the side with the stars). Because the front edge was properly lined up, there was no excess to cut off from the other edges.
I would have given 5 stars, but one of the flags arrived with a crease in it due to the way it was packaged (wasn't rolled up like the other items, it was simply pressed down into the narrow box). The crease caused an issue during installation, but I was able to take my time and work most of it out. I'm sure over time the crease will go away completely with exposure to sunlight and heat.
I have the black distressed American flag on my 18 crosstrek and I love the way it looks. It’s very subtle and can only see it in certain angles and lightings but that’s exactly how I wanted it. Fitment is perfect great product
