Universal Flag Decal Installation Instructions: Application

1. Prepare the Surface

   • Start with a clean surface—this is crucial for proper adhesion.
   • Install the decal indoors on a cool day.
     • If the car has been outside in the heat, move it into a garage or shaded area to let the surface cool down.
   • Wipe the surface clean using alcohol and a microfiber towel to remove dust, debris, or oils.

2. Apply the Decal

   • Carefully line up the decal on the desired surface.
   • Use a squeegee to apply even pressure across the decal as you stick it down.
   • Ensure adhesion: Before removing the transfer tape, squeegee over the decal again with slightly more pressure.
     • You should see the decal's design lightly embossed through the transfer tape.

3. Remove the Transfer Tape

   • For colder temperatures (under 70°F):
     • Use a hair dryer or heat gun to gently warm the surface and decal before removing the transfer tape.
     • This ensures proper adhesion and reduces the risk of lifting.
   • Start peeling the transfer tape from one corner, pulling it back slowly and parallel to the surface.
   • If parts of the decal lift off:
     • Stop immediately.
     • Lay the transfer tape back down gently over the lifted section.
     • Squeegee the area again, applying more pressure, then try peeling the tape again.

4. Final Touches

   • Once the decal is fully applied and transfer tape removed, use a sharp tool (e.g., a razor blade or hobby knife) to trim off excess material for a clean finish.

Note: Patience is key for a smooth installation. Depending on how well you cleaned the surface, some areas may require extra attention to ensure the decal adheres properly.
