This custom designed door handle overlay is easy to install yourself and gives a unique look to your URUS not found in many aftermarket kits, and is also available in gloss black, satin black or carbon fiber. This product doubles, not only as a unique look to your vehicle, but it can also help protect an area of your vehicle that commonly gets scuffs and other damage during daily use. This product is manufactured with high quality, automotive grade vinyl wrap. Not sticker vinyl. This vinyl is vastly different from your typical decal/sticker vinyl. This material is easily conformable and because of its air release technology simple to place and re-position, as well as install when squeegeeing it into place. INSTALL GUIDE 

TOOLS REQUIRED: PRO FELT SQUEEGEE, HEAT GUN or Warm Sunny Day to Post Heat the product 

PART 1 - DRY INSTALL BASICS: Getting the vinyl installed on your vehicle is very easy and only requires minimal tools. For Best results we recommend cleaning the surface that you'll be applying our overlays too, cleaning should consist of removal of any waxes, dirt and or debris. For the cleaning process a clay bar is highly recommended: CLEANING PREP SPRAY & CLAY BAR's SOLD HERE). Before you begin installation of any vinyl overlays please make sure you are working in the right conditions, you should never install vinyl in direct sunlight, never apply vinyl in temperatures that are neither too hot nor too cold. Our in-house expert installers say the optimum temperature for installing vinyl is between 65 and 72 degrees (F). Vinyl can be installed in temperatures as low as 65 degrees (F), and up to 90 degrees (F). Vinyl has a more difficult time conforming and staying in place in colder temperatures though, which is why we recommend waiting until temperatures warm up or install in a temperature controlled environment.

PART 2: Once you have completed part one - dry install basics, you can move onto this step.

Note: This overlay is made so no trimming should be required, all that is required is to tuck the vinyl around the edges. Start by peeling the overlay off of the backing paper while being careful not to stretch or warp the lines. 

Alignment: Starting with the smaller cap piece of the overlay, align the vinyl to the outer corner, (corner facing away from the larger portion of the door handle). (Ex. Below)

From here, lay the overlay down on the handle cap, while making sure the top edge follows the subtle body line line visible on the top of the door handle.

This is what it should look like once you have layed the wrap vinyl down to match the body line present on the door handle. You should also have about 1mm of excess material that will be conformed around the inner edge.

Open the door handle and gradually use your finger to start rounding the vinyl around the corner of the inner edge. A small amount of heat from the heatgun can aid in this part of the process. You will notice a small cut in the bottom inner corner, this is to make it easier for you to conform the bottom corner as it is common for material to bunch up in this area, and this relief cut makes it so the two edges can flap into the inner edge without conflict.

Once the you have got the entire edge around the corner, use the hard edge of the squeegee to make sure the vinyl is set into place. Again using heat to help conform this area.

Starting the same way as the first small piece, hook the corner of the door handle with the second piece of the overlay then without stretching the vinyl, keep it taught and again align the overlay to the top edge of the body line in the door handle. 

Make sure you have matched where the top of your small cap section landed for a cohesive look. Now that you're happy with your placement, use a squeegee, starting in the center of the overlay moving towards the outer edges with firm pressure to push out any air from underneath the vinyl as you are applying it to the surface. 

Using your fingers carefully work the bottom edge down to avoid wrinkles while also working the vinyl into the dimple in the door handle.

Again using the hard edge of the squeegee and a small amount of heat, tuck and conform the outer corners of the door handle overlay. You should not have more than 2mm of excess along the outer edge.

Last step include opening the door handle again and working the small amount of excess around the inner edge. Doing so will give the clean finished look to the overall product.

Go back over the entirety of the overlay with a squeegee to insure all air has been removed from underneath the vinyl, and then all that is left to do is use a heat gun to post heat the material and conform the corners around the bends and finish tucking excess. The post heating process should be done for every door handle you can also leave the vinyl in the warm sun for a couple of hours to set completely.
