2018-2020 Honda Accord | Window Trim Chrome Delete Kit - SATIN BLACK

Not a fan of the OEM chrome on your window trim. Neither are we, which is why we developed this pre-cut kit to make it easy to get that blacked out look on higher end vehicles. This kit was made with the DIY'er in mind to give you the best overall end result. We started with the rear quarter window, something that definitely required an entirely pre-cut piece to sit perfectly into place for you to simply tuck under the window moldings, squeegee into place and be done. The window trim on the front doors are very long because of the nature of the coupe body shape itself. We have made countless window trim kits and we have found the longer a window trim is, the harder it is to keep a piece of vinyl from warping, which is why we supplied you with a piece that is slightly oversized in length and width so you can easily conform it to the bend of the trim without worrying about coming up short. Unlike most ebay or amazon vendors, Premium Auto Styling vinyl overlays are designed and produced here in the USA in our own facility. We design and test fit all products to ensure fitment guaranteeing you the best results . Basically, if they don’t work on our cars, they’re not going to end up on yours. If you are looking for an inexpensive styling modification, or you just want to change up the factory look, it's a great idea to checkout this vinyl overlay.

INSTALL GUIDE

TOOLS REQUIRED: NEW SHARP BLADE, PRO FELT SQUEEGEE, HEAT GUN or Warm Sunny Day to Post Heat the product

DRY INSTALL BASICS: Getting the vinyl installed on your vehicle is very easy and only requires minimal tools. For Best results we recommend cleaning the surface that you'll be applying our overlays too, cleaning should consist of removal of any waxes, dirt and or debris. For the cleaning process a clay bar is highly recommended: CLEANING PREP SPRAY & CLAY BAR's SOLD HERE). Before you begin installation of any vinyl overlays please make sure you are working in the right conditions, you should never install vinyl in direct sunlight, never apply vinyl in temperatures that are neither too hot nor too cold. Our in-house expert installers say the optimum temperature for installing vinyl is between 65 and 72 degrees (F). Vinyl can be installed in temperatures as low as 65 degrees (F), and up to 90 degrees (F). Vinyl has a more difficult time conforming and staying in place in colder temperatures though, which is why we recommend waiting until temperatures warm up or install in a temperature controlled environment.

QUICK INSTALL GUIDE: After the surface is clean and you have read and completed DRY INSTALL BASICS, Note that there are two practice pieces in your kit. These small rectangles are there for you to get the hang of laying, tucking, and trimming excess, without affecting your product. Be sure to remove these practice pieces before starting your actual install. Start with the rear quarter window chrome piece, and align the top edge of the vinyl to the chrome window trim. There is some excess that will need to tucked into the rubber molding but this will insure complete coverage. Once you have achieved proper alignment, start in the middle of the overlay with a pro-felt squeegee and begin squeegeeing the vinyl down into place. Work from the center outwards never inwards towards the middle. This will reduce the chance of creating air bubbles. After the material is completely laid into place a heat gun may be required in order to conform rounded corners or edges.

Now you will move onto the front window chrome piece. You will notice the product is a long rectangle and is not curved. With longer window trims we have found it is hard for DIYers to keep trims from warping/stretching to thin, causing some installs to have chrome showing. Which is why the piece you will be using is slightly oversized to insure full coverage top and bottom. Start on one end of the window trim place down your corner, and make the top edge of your vinyl follow along the top edge of the chrome trim, gradually following the curve of the window trim. Once you have placed the entire piece, you can start using a pro-felt squeegee or your finger, again from the center of the overlay, starting at the top edge, gradually laying the material. The heat gun may be needed to conform some edges with only a half of a second or two of heat. When you get to the mirror make sure to lay the material as far down as you can into the area before trimming, as this the will give you the best end result. Do the same for the rest of the window trim making sure to tuck as much of the material into the molding as you can before trimming which will result in the cleanest finished product. Opening the door itself can help you hold back the molding in order to tuck the vinyl under it. Post heat the entire product and your installation is complete.
