2018-2022 Subaru Crosstrek | Tail Light Reflector Accent Overlay with Mountain Range Cut Out - Gloss Black (Tail Light Border + Reflector Accent Overlay)

Revamping the brand new tail lights isn't as hard as it seems. Especially if you want to add that unique touch of a mountain range to it! We've created a product that outlines the outer edge of the tail light as well as the reflector portion on the side of the tail light with a mountain range. It's simple because we use real automotive wrap material, not sticker, decal vinyl. Unlike most ebay or amazon vendors, Premium Auto Styling vinyl overlays are designed and produced here in the USA in our own facility. We design and test fit all products to ensure fitment guaranteeing you the best results . Basically, if they don’t work on our cars, they’re not going to end up on yours. If you are looking for an inexpensive styling modification, or you just want to change up the factory look, it's a great idea to checkout this vinyl overlay.

INSTALL GUIDE

TOOLS REQUIRED: PRO FELT SQUEEGEE, HEAT GUN or Warm Sunny Day to Post Heat the product

PART 1 - DRY INSTALL BASICS: Getting the vinyl installed on your vehicle is very easy and only requires minimal tools. For Best results we recommend cleaning the surface that you'll be applying our overlays too, cleaning should consist of removal of any waxes, dirt and or debris. For the cleaning process a clay bar is highly recommended: CLEANING PREP SPRAY & CLAY BAR's SOLD HERE). Before you begin installation of any vinyl overlays please make sure you are working in the right conditions, you should never install vinyl in direct sunlight, never apply vinyl in temperatures that are neither too hot nor too cold. Our in-house expert installers say the optimum temperature for installing vinyl is between 65 and 72 degrees (F). Vinyl can be installed in temperatures as low as 65 degrees (F), and up to 90 degrees (F). Vinyl has a more difficult time conforming and staying in place in colder temperatures though, which is why we recommend waiting until temperatures warm up or install in a temperature controlled environment.

PART 2: Once you have completed part one - dry install basics, you can move onto this step. Start by identifying the separate pieces of the kit. You should have 6 pieces total, 2 lower pieces of the tail light that includes the reflector accent area with the mountain range cut out. 2 upper portions that follow the top side of the outer portion of the tail light, and 2 upper smaller pieces for the inner tail light attached to the hatch.

Start with the lower piece. Line this piece up to the outer corner of the tail light that faces the front of the vehicle. Do not press this part down all the way as it may need to move slightly in order to get your placement lined up just right for your Reflector portion of the overlay. The bottom side of your overlay that follows the outer edge of the tail light should be placed about 1 millimeter over so it can be tucked around the edge giving you the best finished look. Without pulling or stretching the vinyl, follow the outer edge of the tail light with your lower trim piece until you reach the inner portion of the light that faces the rear hatch. You may end up with about a centimeter of excess vinyl on the end which will simply need to be tucked around the inner edge of the light. Once you are happy with this pieces placement you can begin using a squeegee, apply firm pressure to the entire product starting in the middle then moving outwards. Now that the overlay is fully installed you can remove the transfer tape, start in one corner and pull the transfer tape back onto itself. Do not pull the transfer tape away from the vinyl, pull it downwards. This will result in less likelihood of the vinyl staying on the transfer tape. If a piece of the vinyl does not come off of the transfer tape, STOP pulling immediately, set the transfer tape back into place, squeegee that area again and then continue until it is fully removed.

Now the Outer Top Side Piece. Again, starting from the outer corner of the tail light that faces the front of the vehicle, place the vinyl by following along the outer edge and matching up with your lower piece. You will want to tuck any excess vinyl you may have on the outer edge after you have confirmed the entire placement of the piece. Using the same squeegee method, finish installation of this piece.

Lastly, The Small Top Side Inner Piece. This piece you will want to start on the edge that faces the outer tail light. Lay this piece into place along the outer edge of the top of the tail light until you reach end. Your placement should make it so you have no excess on the inner corner that the overlay ends at. Tuck any excess you have on the inner portion where you started. Squeegee the material down and then all that is left to do is use a heat gun to post heat the material, or leave the vinyl in the warm sun for a couple of hours to set completely.
