2016-2020 Honda Civic Sedan - Custom Tail Light Insert Black Out with Turn Signal and Reverse Light Cut Out

The Sedan is cool, but we wanted to really give it an OEM+ Sport package look to the tail light so we kept with OEM line styling and followed the awesome curves that already exist in the factory light to make a custom pre-cut black out insert that's an easy vehicle wrap diy project. This vinyl is vastly different from your typical decal/sticker vinyl. This material is easily conformable and because of its air release technology simple to place and re-position, as well as install when squeegeeing it into place. Unlike most ebay or amazon vendors, Premium Auto Styling vinyl overlays are designed and produced here in the USA in our own facility. Note: This product does have 2 Pre-Made Relief cuts, this is to make it Possible for you to wrap the bulge area of the clear portion of the tail light, without these cuts, it would be very difficult for you to install without major bubbles, or wrinkles occurring. A razor thin line of clear may be visible depending on your install. 

This product is made with wrap vinyl, not sticker vinyl, which is why it is a DRY install! NOT A WET INSTALL.

DRY INSTALL BASICS: Getting the vinyl installed on your vehicle is east and only requires minimal tools. For Best results we recommend cleaning the surface that you'll be applying our overlays too, cleaning should consist of removal of any waxes, dirt and or debris. For the cleaning process a clay bar is highly recommended: CLEANING PREP SPRAY & CLAY BAR's SOLD HERE). Before you begin installation of any vinyl overlays please make sure you are working in the right conditions, you should never install vinyl in direct sunlight, never apply vinyl in temperatures that are neither too hot nor too cold. Our in-house expert installers say the optimum temperature for installing vinyl is between 65 and 72 degrees (F). Vinyl can be installed in temperatures as low as 65 degrees (F), and up to 90 degrees (F). Vinyl has a more difficult time conforming and staying in place in colder temperatures though, which is why we recommend waiting until temperatures warm up or install in a temperature controlled environment.

FULL INSTALL: After the surface is clean and you have read and completed "DRY INSTALL BASICS" Start by peeling the vinyl from the backing paper while making sure not to stretch the cut-out area with the transfer tape or the relief cut areas.

Line up the inner corner that faces towards the red of the tail light, make sure the overlay is rotated correctly so that your inner edge follows along the red perfectly both top and bottom.

Place the overlay once you have it lined up. Tack your inner corner and then squeegee down the area with the transfer tape ONLY. Make sure to push the squeegee into the first edge of the bulge without bridging the area. This will make it so you do not have a bubble appear later along this edge. The front of the bulge will be the last thing to lay. So next squeegee down you top and bottom flaps that are above and below the bulge. Do the same for the top and bottom edges of the bulge by making sure to squeegee all the way into that edge to insure there will be no bubbles.

Now move onto the front of the bulge carefully working the material around the first edge and glassing it across the front face relieving any remaining tension. Using swiping motions with the pro-felt squeegee at a 45 degree angle at this point is highly recommended to avoid wrinkles.

Once completely laid, go back over the entire overlay squeegeeing it down, making sure there is no air left under the vinyl.  Then you can remove the transfer tape. Proceed to peel the transfer tape very slowly to reveal the custom cut-out design. 

The edge of the tail light facing the trunk has excess material for you to conform around the edges. This is to give you a completed look so there is no clear showing even between the trunk and tail light gap. Depending on your placement you may end up with far more material than intended and minor trimming may be required to finish off that inner edge. Once happy with your final result, post heat the vinyl with a heat gun, or let the vehicle sit in the sun for a couple hours and the install is complete.
