Protection Film Shifter Trim Overlay | 2022 Subaru Outback (Touring, Touring XT, Onyx Edition XT, Wilderness)
The OEM Shifter Trim looks great, but sadly it's very prone to scratching, which is why Daniel listened to your requests and came up with this product to cover and protect it while also giving it a unique look with Carbon Fiber Vinyl. Simple peel and stick process makes for an easy DIY install anyone can do at home in their garage. Unlike most ebay or amazon vendors, Premium Auto Styling vinyl overlays are designed and produced here in the USA in our own facility. We design and test fit all products to ensure fitment guaranteeing you the best results . Basically, if they don’t work on our cars, they’re not going to end up on yours. If you are looking for an inexpensive styling modification, or you just want to change up the factory look without having to deal with opening up your tail light for internal modification, this is definitely the easiest route.
WET INSTALLATION: Getting the vinyl installed on your vehicle is very easy and only requires minimal tools.
- Pro Felt or Hard Squeegee (you can use a room key card or credit card in a pinch)
- Premium Surface Lube (you can make your own by filling a spray bottle with 16 oz of water and 1 drop of dish soap)
For Best results we recommend cleaning the surface that you'll be applying our overlays. Cleaning consists of removal of any waxes, dirt and or debris. Use our Surface Prep or 70% Isopropyl Alcohol to make sure the surface is clean.
Before you begin installation of any vinyl overlays please make sure you are working in the right conditions, you should never install vinyl in direct sunlight, never apply vinyl in temperatures that are neither too hot nor too cold. Our in-house expert installers say the optimum temperature for installing vinyl is between 65 and 80 degrees (F). Vinyl can be installed as low as 50 degrees (F), and up to 90 degrees (F).
To begin, you first want to spray the adhesive side of the vinyl very lightly with surface lube and then position the vinyl into place on your vehicle. Use a squeegee and start from the center and begin pushing the air from beneath the overlay toward the edges - you may use a heat gun to speed up the adhesion process (only after all solution has been squeegeed out).

• Can be removed without any damage to surface.
• 3-6 year life expectancy.
