INSTALL GUIDE

TOOLS REQUIRED: ***PRO FELT SQUEEGEE, and HEAT GUN or Warm Sunny Day to Post Heat the product

DRY INSTALL BASICS: Getting the vinyl installed on your vehicle is very easy and only requires minimal tools. For Best results we recommend cleaning the surface that you'll be applying our overlays too, cleaning should consist of removal of any waxes, dirt and or debris. For the cleaning process a clay bar is highly recommended: CLEANING PREP SPRAY & CLAY BAR's SOLD HERE). Before you begin installation of any vinyl overlays please make sure you are working in the right conditions, you should never install vinyl in direct sunlight, never apply vinyl in temperatures that are neither too hot nor too cold. Our in-house expert installers say the optimum temperature for installing vinyl is between 65 and 72 degrees (F). Vinyl can be installed in temperatures as low as 65 degrees (F), and up to 90 degrees (F). Vinyl has a more difficult time conforming and staying in place in colder temperatures though, which is why we recommend waiting until temperatures warm up or install in a temperature controlled environment.

FULL INSTALL: After the surface is clean and you have read and completed "DRY INSTALL BASICS" please note that, this product does take patience and is a multi-piece kit. It is far easier than the single piece alternative but does still take time. Start by identifying the sides and sections of the tail light with the corresponding pieces of the overlay.Install these pieces one at a time.

Start with the side piece first, while the face of the light will be applied second. Line up the side piece product to the outer edge of the face of the light using the corners for reference. As shown in example (A) you want to align the vinyl to the corners of the edge of the tail light about 1-2mm on top of the tail light face. Be very patient with this part as alignment does take time.

You do not need to feed the back edge of the overlay into place at this time, as it will make it more difficult to place. You do not want to place the overlay to high, to low, or to far away from the edge of the face of the tail light otherwise you may be left with a sliver of the tail light visible after applying the final top face piece.

Once placement is set, lay the vinyl starting with the edge that you aligned and gradually pushing the vinyl down with your fingers/ pro-felt squeegee towards the back edge of the side of the tail light evenly across the alignment edge. Be careful not to wrinkle the vinyl, as you are pushing it down, simply lift the back edge back up if you have gone to far on one section causing tension. You should be laying the vinyl into place gradually and evenly.

Once you have throughly removed any and all air from underneath the vinyl using the pro-felt squeegee, you can move on to the face of the tail light.Remove the vinyl from the backing paper making sure to keep the transfer tape attached. Align the vinyl to the same edge of the face of the tail light, adjust if needed. Once placed, with firm pressure start squeegeeing the vinyl down starting from the bottom of the face. Working your way up, until you get to the first crease in the face of the tail light where it bends outwards. Make sure to lay the vinyl into place up to this point without stretching or warping it. If done correctly, the top of the face of the overlay will simply fall into place. Squeegee the top portion of the overlay at this time, then make a second pass on top of the transfer tape. You want to make sure the letter cut out is fully locked into place before the next step.

Once completed, you can now carefully, start with one corner and peel the transfer tape back perpendicular to itself. If the vinyl does not detach from the transfer tape, carefully lay that portion of the transfer tape back down. Squeegee it again and then carefully remove the transfer tape. Continue these steps for the remaining lights and as a final step, post heat the entire product using a heat gun.
