TOOLS REQUIRED: PRO FELT SQUEEGEE, HEAT GUN or Warm Sunny Day to Post Heat the product
DRY INSTALL BASICS: Getting the vinyl installed on your vehicle is very easy and only requires minimal tools. For Best results we recommend cleaning the surface that you'll be applying our overlays too, cleaning should consist of removal of any waxes, dirt and or debris. For the cleaning process a clay bar is highly recommended: CLEANING PREP SPRAY & CLAY BAR's SOLD HERE). Before you begin installation of any vinyl overlays please make sure you are working in the right conditions, you should never install vinyl in direct sunlight, never apply vinyl in temperatures that are neither too hot nor too cold. Our in-house expert installers say the optimum temperature for installing vinyl is between 65 and 72 degrees (F). Vinyl can be installed in temperatures as low as 65 degrees (F), and up to 90 degrees (F). Vinyl has a more difficult time conforming and staying in place in colder temperatures though, which is why we recommend waiting until temperatures warm up or install in a temperature controlled environment.
FULL INSTALL: After the surface is clean and you have read and completed "DRY INSTALL BASICS", remove the vinyl from the backing paper. Hold it by the left and right side and align it to the top edge of the stock emblem. While doing this align the left and right edges, center the overlay and place it on the surface without pushing it down completely. Check to make sure your alignment is correct, if it is not, simply take it back off and align again.
Once placement is confirmed, starting in the center of the emblem, use firm pressure with a pro-felt squeegee and lay the center of the vinyl onto the emblem vertically up and down. Then do the same horizontally.
At this point you have now made a cross and the remaining vinyl to be squeegeed down is in the 4 corners. Do this by starting in the center and working your way outward one corner at a time. Be careful not to make any hard creases, if your placement has caused unnecessary tension using a heat gun may be need to help alleviate that tension.
*This emblem can be installed without any use of heat, but first time installers can have difficulty at times with this step. Simply be patient and do not try to rush.
Once the vinyl is laid completely on the emblem, use the squeegee and run it around the outer edge to tuck any excess you may have if the product was placed to far to one side or the other. This product was created so no trimming should ever be required.
Now, post heat the overlay, simply by letting your vehicle sit out in the warm sun for a approximately 30 minutes, or use a heat gun to speed up the process.
