The OEM Shifter Trim looks great, but sadly it's very prone to scratching, which is why Daniel listened to your requests and came up with this product to cover and protect it while also giving it a unique look with Carbon Fiber Vinyl. Simple peel and stick process makes for an easy DIY install anyone can do at home in their garage. Unlike most ebay or amazon vendors, Premium Auto Styling vinyl overlays are designed and produced here in the USA in our own facility. We design and test fit all products to ensure fitment guaranteeing you the best results . Basically, if they don’t work on our cars, they’re not going to end up on yours.
INSTALL GUIDE
TOOLS REQUIRED: SQUEEGEE.
PART 1 - DRY INSTALL BASICS: Getting the vinyl installed on your vehicle is very easy and only requires minimal tools. For Best results we recommend cleaning the surface that you'll be applying our overlays too, cleaning should consist of removal of any waxes, dirt and or debris. For the cleaning process a clay bar is highly recommended: CLEANING PREP SPRAY & CLAY BAR's SOLD HERE). Before you begin installation of any vinyl overlays please make sure you are working in the right conditions, you should never install vinyl in direct sunlight, never apply vinyl in temperatures that are neither too hot nor too cold. Our in-house expert installers say the optimum temperature for installing vinyl is between 65 and 72 degrees (F). Vinyl can be installed in temperatures as low as 65 degrees (F), and up to 90 degrees (F). Vinyl has a more difficult time conforming and staying in place in colder temperatures though, which is why we recommend waiting until temperatures warm up or install in a temperature controlled environment.
PART 2: Once you have completed part one - dry install basics, you can move onto this step.
Start by peeling the decal off of the backing paper, line up the overlay to the shifter trim slipping the overlay over the shifter itself while being careful not to stretch or warp the vinyl. Begin your placement by lining up the two top corners, once you have them lined up push them down into place locking them down. This is what will dictate the rest of the overlay falling into place correctly or not. Now hold the bottom corners, making sure you hold the overlay place taught so there is not slack in the vinyl as you place these bottom corners. This will make it easier to squeegee the vinyl down once you have confirmed your overall placement. Once you are happy with the placement you can begin using a squeegee, apply firm pressure to the entire product starting in the middle then moving outwards. Continue until you have removed all air from underneath the vinyl.
Now that the overlay is fully installed you can remove the transfer tape, start in one corner and pull the transfer tape back onto itself. Do not pull the transfer tape away from the vinyl, pull it downwards. This will result in less likelihood of the vinyl staying on the transfer tape. Once you have peeled back one of the top corners tear the transfer tape on the top half to make it easier to pull it off completely because the shifter is now in the way. If a piece of the vinyl does not come off of the transfer tape, STOP pulling immediately, set the transfer tape back into place, squeegee that area again and then continue until it is fully removed. The Install is now complete.
